The Agribank Board of Directors would like to announce the retirement of Mr. Somkhosi Mahamba Temba Malaba from the position of Chief Executive Officer effective 31 January 2020. Mr. Malaba was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Agribank in May 2004 and served the Bank in the position for over fifteen years.

Mr. Malaba is a qualified Economist with a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from the then University of Rhodesia. He also acquired a Masters in Economics from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.

Prior to his appointment as Agribank Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Malaba was the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe for six years. Mr. Malaba had worked for the Central Bank for sixteen years before being appointed Deputy Governor. He also served two years on secondment to Government as Head of Planning (Permanent Secretary) in the National Planning Commission in the office of The President and Cabinet (1996-1997)
